JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

As a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at NSC, you will have the opportunity to work remotely, with fixed working hours from 3PM to 11PM Vietnam time.

We are seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer with deep expertise in object detection and model optimization, particularly using YOLO-based frameworks. This role is critical in driving our on-device AI capabilities forward by delivering robust, high-performance object recognition systems for real-world applications.

This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in an autonomous environment, takes ownership of technical solutions, and can work independently while maintaining regular communication with the Head of Development through daily and weekly check-ins.

Main responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize YOLO-based object detection models for real-time image recognition on Android platforms.
• Deploy and fine-tune models using TensorFlow Lite (TFLite) for mobile and edge-device inference.
• Build and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines, including data preprocessing, training, validation, model conversion, and deployment.
• Work closely with Android developers and other stakeholders to integrate computer vision capabilities into production environments.
• Benchmark, profile, and optimize model performance (latency, accuracy, memory footprint) on Android 13 tablets and other edge devices.
• Research and evaluate emerging approaches in object detection, embedded vision, and model optimization to improve system performance and efficiency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Computer Vision Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with YOLO (v5/v7/v8 or similar) and object detection frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Python for model development and optimization.
• Practical experience building and maintaining ML pipelines from data preparation to production deployment.
• Experience deploying and optimizing computer vision models on Android devices using TensorFlow Lite (TFLite).
• Strong understanding of model optimization techniques for edge/mobile environments, including quantization, pruning, and performance tuning.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and take ownership of deliverables in a remote environment.

Nice-to-have skills and experience

• Familiarity with Java/Kotlin or Android application integration.
• Experience with ONNX, OpenCV, MediaPipe, ML Kit, or similar computer vision frameworks.
• Experience with Android 13+, NNAPI, GPU delegates, or hardware-accelerated inference.
• Experience deploying computer vision solutions on tablets, wearable devices, or other edge-computing platforms.
• Experience working on real-time, low-latency AI applications.
