JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

As a Java Developer at NSC, you will have the opportunity to work remotely, with fixed working hours from 8:30AM to 5:30PM Vietnam time (the rest is flexible). 

We are looking for a Java Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate has solid experience in Java backend development, is comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment, and can communicate effectively in English.

This role prioritizes candidates based in Hanoi who are able to work in a hybrid setup and come to the office whenever required for team collaboration, meetings, or project activities.

Main responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for internal and external system integrations
• Work with PL/SQL for database-related development and optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, BA, PM, and other developers
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards
• Manage source code effectively using Git, including branch management workflows
• Track tasks, bugs, and development progress using Jira
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support system improvements
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture improvements, and best practices

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java development
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Good understanding of RESTful API development
• Proficiency in PL/SQL
• Solid experience using Git, especially branch management strategies
• Experience working with Jira or similar project management tools

Language Skills

• Intermediate English skills (written)

Soft Skills

• Good problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and adapt
• Responsible and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision

Nice to have

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude
• Familiarity with Clean Architecture principles and best practices
