JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly analytical Data Scientist who is eager to expand into crowd simulation and behavioral modeling. This role is designed for candidates with strong data capabilities who are willing to undergo intensive training (approximately 2 months) to become a Simulation Specialist (MassMotion / AnyLogic) supporting real-world urban and infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with international clients (including UrbanID) to build, calibrate, and validate simulation models for pedestrian movement and crowd dynamics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities:

After training, you will be responsible for:

• Converting real-world measured data into time-based arrival profiles
• Analyzing dwell time patterns and configuring behavioral parameters
• Defining probabilistic routing logic between zones
• Designing and configuring queue systems and service time distributions
• Calibrating simulation outputs (occupancy, density, queue formation) against observed data
• Running scenario testing and sensitivity analysis under varying demand and staffing conditions
• Supporting validation of simulation models in live operational environments

Training & Development:

• Intensive 2-month training program on MassMotion / AnyLogic and simulation methodologies
• Hands-on exposure to real project data and use cases
• Mentorship from experienced simulation experts

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must-have:

• Strong background in Data Science, Analytics, or related fields
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar data analysis tools
• Experience working with time-series data, statistical modeling, or optimization
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to interpret real-world data and translate it into models
• Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Nice-to-have (not required):

• Experience with simulation tools (AnyLogic, MassMotion, or similar)
• Knowledge of operations research, queuing theory, or agent-based modeling
• Experience in urban planning, transportation, or spatial analysis
